Ten percent luck, twenty percent skill...

(You can't tell from this picture all that well, but I'm working on a great big mustache for this weekend's races)
This weekend is the second of my insane two-event weekends (previous one was Wind-Aided Century/Bike The Drive). Saturday I'll be running the Lake Mingo Trail Race, taking a bus up to Chicago, and then running the Northshore Half-Marathon, trying to qualify for seeded start (probably Preferred Start II) at the Chicago Marathon, which requires finishing the half-marathon in at least 10 minutes less than I did the 500 Festival.
Did the usual Tuesday night run(a bit slower than I would otherwise (4 miles at 9:37 pace, average HR 150BPM), but I didn't want to push things too hard in terms of my leg), did speedwork last night (workout was 400/600/800/1200/800/600/400 with 90 seconds rest after the last runner on each interval - I sat out the 1200m interval and the second 600m interval(should have sat out the 1200 and the second 800, but no permanent damage) - my average pace was 6:26 including a couple of warmup laps on the track, average HR of 163 BPM with a good deal of time at >185BPM), and now I'm off until Saturday.

I can see the outlines of your mustache in the photo. It's gonna look great, I can tell.
Do you do your speed work alone or with a training group?
(I like your cap. I think I had liquigas years ago, after consuming a bad envelope of soy milk in China.)
Speed work with the local running group, although I'll probably be doing some on my own as part of my Chicago training - let me know if you want to come down to join me!
