and so the taper begins
I've now got exactly two weeks to the Chicago Marathon, and I'm feeling good. This week (including the Half-Marathon), I ran 32.83 miles, at an average pace of 08:37, plus a bit of cross-training thrown in. Now I'm into taper mode (planning on about 20 miles @ about marathon pace this week, then down to about 9 miles @ marathon pace in the last week), and dialing in my nutrition for the next two weeks.

Be careful about dialing in your nutrition. Toll charges can exceed $1.99/minute.
Shea--do you remember back to, oh, I don't know, about 1988 or '89 at Waynflete School where you were friends with this freakishly-tall basketball-playing Jewish chick with black hair and brown eyes? Do you remember her visiting you at college? Do you remember what we were like back then (I'll spare the public the details). Write soon at my brand new blog, TallYogaChick.blogspot.comm which I've done nothing with yet. But I've missed you. Marathons? Holy shit!
Shea,
Do you remember back in early 90's when we used to go to Grinnell and hang out in weird places like "the loggia?" Do you remember a redheaded guy who was obnoxious yet antisocial at the same time?
Marathons! Holy Shit!!
