This a hospital bracelet. You get it when they rush you to the ER for 3 liters of IV fluids after you bike 124 miles. I'm mostly recovered now, was released from the ER in Morris, IL at about 9pm last night.
I finished the ride slightly slower than I'd hoped, got chased by an angry pit bull at about 105 miles in, but felt pretty good when I got to the end. Stepped off the bike and was fine for about 5 minutes, at which point I passed out. I came to within seconds, and was up for a couple of minutes, which I don't really remember most of, and then I passed out again.
Ended up getting a ride in the ambulance with the siren and everything...
Total this past weekend, I did 66 miles on Saturday, and 124 miles on Sunday, for a grand metric total of 300km.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

2:45 ride at 17.0mph (about 46 miles total). In the rain. With a good deal of wind. And burnt feet. Scary thing is, I had fun. A lot of fun.

How hot was it?

Hot enough to blister. I'll explain. I just bought a new pair of sandals, and I'm still getting them broken in. I had to do a good bit of walking (errands) on Thursday, and I was starting to get a couple of blisters from the new shoes, so after I finished my last errand at aboout 4pm (about 1/2 a mile from home), I decided that since it was a nice day, I'd take off my shoes and walk home barefoot. Big mistake. By the time I got home, both my feet were pretty severely blistered, and not from the new sandals. From being burnt. By the sidewalk. The evil, evil sidewalk. I ended up spending all day Friday and most of today flat on my back with my feet propped up. Pain is getting better, blisters are still pretty bad. Took today off from biking (was supposed to be a 2-1/2 hour endurance ride), will try to get a ride in tomorrow.

Pre-ride breakfast:
2oz FRS w/ 5g glutamine and 16oz water
1 envelope instant grits w/ 1T peanut butter

Ride:
1:25 @ 18.1mph average speed; very humid out (there was a noticable difference in air density)

I'm now up to an average speed of 15.55mpg for the season (weighted by duration of ride, 16.1mph not weighted). Getting closer to my goal of averaged weighted speed above 16mph (see this article)

In training for Bike Psychos, which I'm very seriously considering combining with the CU Across The Prairie Ride for a 300km weekend. Better planned and regimented exercise and diet, etc.

Biked 25 miles this morning. At 18.4mph average, with a faster average speed on the return half of the ride. Was 65 degrees out when I left the house, and by the time I got home, I was drenched with sweat.
